will android 4.0 "Ice cream sandwich" come to many phones?

Question by Graham: will android 4.0 "Ice cream sandwich" come to many phones?
android 4.0 was supposed to eliminate fragmentation, as they said it will be "one OS everywhere". is that referring to only the merging of tablets and phones OSs? or does this mean many phones will support 4.0 and will be able to update soon?

I understand that the galaxy nexus as the introductory google phone should get it first, but isnt it a little ridiculous how terribly fragmented the updates are for other android phones? many phones are only just getting 2.3 or even still on 2.2. If google wants android to be anything worth switching to then they should have a standard OS on most all phones quickly.
